There are thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of kids each year that are unable to play sports due to the costs of participation. These costs include registration fees, physicals, and equipment. Stories regarding this issue have been written in recent years by well-established publications and news outlets such as ESPN, CBS, and The Washington Post. This is a rising concern as many kids who grow up living in a low-income household often look to sports as a way out of poverty and away from drugs and violence. Sports not only help keep kids off the streets but they also teach valuable life lessons like commitment, time management, leadership, teamwork, and respect. The goal of 4th N Long is to raise awareness of this issue and to provide funding for underfunded children through the sale of clothing products. To start, 20% of the proceeds from each product sold will go toward funding children, from elementary to high school, who struggle to pay for sports-related costs. We will be working with and donating to 4th N Goal, a non-profit organization that works directly with low-income families across America to get children in need the equipment and resources they need to participate. The ultimate goal of both 4th N Long and 4th N Goal is to provide funding for as many kids as possible.
